Help me ID this perennial

The red, tall one. It's drawing beautiful hummingbirds and I'm a new to this, any help appreciated, thanks.

I believe it is cardinal flower - lobelia cardinalis. It is a very nice plant and hummingbirds really like those flowers.

Yep. Cardinal Flower. They are easy to multiply -- all I did was crumble and scatter the dried seeds in fall. I'm looking at the ones that started to grow in the front with interest because their leaves are maroon... I have Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica) in the same bed and I'm wondering if they could have crossed? 8)

I don't have cardinal flower...yet, should have the red cardinal and the great blue next season. Indications are it is a short lived perennial, perhaps needs to be divided or self seeds? Also any descriptions have it doing best in damp areas, or at least well watered.
Do these factors hold somewhat true for those of you growing it?
