Fertilizer burn

I did something very very bad. Now I need help to fix it. I bought some fertilizer pellets for flowers on a sale rack last year. They are tiny green pebbles and I worked them into the soil a little. It looks like they burned the roots near the surface on my coreopsis because they are BLACK. And burned up my iceplant. They did not even dissolve. I am brushing them away from the plants to see if I can salvage them. Do you have any ideas on how to save the plants, especially coreopsis. Thanks. Roesmary

Hi Rosemary - try running a lot of water through the pot (or soil) to wash away the overdose. Hope that helps!
