What kind of lily is this?

The main stem is very thick and strong...almost reminds me of a palm tree. The stems which hold the flowers are also thick and strong not allowing the lily to flop over and curl up tightly like I see some lilies.

Also wondering if I plucked these lily seeds off too soon...

I don't know about the seeds but the lily looks like an Asiatic lily. They bloom facing up like you said.
I have yellow ones that just finished blooming. I had red ones too but they're not blooming -- either I lost them or they bloom later.
