Azalia spots

Not sure if this is just nothing ?

No. If you click on the picture to enlarge it, Roger, you will see it is not powdery mildew.

If it isn't just random variation, then it could be damage left behind by sucking insects, like maybe spider mites.

Hold a branch over a piece of white paper and shake it. If you see tiny dots like periods, that would be spider mites.
