Anyone know what plant this is

It's been in a container for a while and I have no idea what kind of plant it is. It started blooming flowers. Does anyone have a clue what it might be?

It looks like a pelargonium geranium by the flowers and leaves. But I've never seen one with such long heavy stems.

Here in the Northeast, they are only house plants and the one I had didn't make it. This is common for me with house plants though.
