Planting some echinacea and lavender together?

In front of my front porch, along a walkway, I wanted to plant some lavender to give a nice fragrance while hanging out front, but I wanted to mix some echinacea with the lavender to provide more color. The two varieties of echinacea I purchased are 'tomato soup' and 'flamethrower'.

The problem I'm having is the available space. I want to say it's a 3'x8' area, so the spacing of this is kinda the problem. The spread on the lavender varieties is about 2-3', and the same for the echinacea. My goal is to get the echinacea to mix with the lavender.

Is this how I should plant them?

Looks fine to me; should be pretty.
