Troubly with Wisteria

I'm having issues with my Wisteria. It's not the Wisteria that's causing my problem, it's these little bugs that eat the new shoots. They are tiny black bugs that are a quarter the size of a button, and they eat the new shoots. Thankfully, the plant doesn't seem to mind it, but I think these are mites. I'll show a picture soon, but for now what do I do with it? It's a Wisteria that's been there since I've been here, and that's 15 years. It's trained into a bush so I put an old swing inside of it to support it. If it's mites, what do I do with it? Thank you.
