Agapanthus Lily of the Nile

Hi, I have a question about this plant. It bloomed a couple months ago and now all the flowers have died (around a month ago). But, the stem is still green and hard. Can I cut off the stem? It looks weird sticking straight up and no flowers. Thanks!

Not something I've ever grown. But since no one else responded, I'm going to venture a guess that it should be fine to cut down the finished flower stalk as long as you leave the leaves. The leaves will continue to feed the rhizome all season so that it can bloom for you next year. I cut the finished flower stalk out of my iris all the time and they are similar in having rhizomes, lower growing leaves, tall strong flower stalk.

I usually wait until they go brown, then cut them off.

Commerical gardeners out here just pull em out- and take half the plant :?

I have agapanthus and you can cut the stalks anytime after they bloom. The clumps will get bigger every year and should be divided every three years or so.
