Naturalized area

We have had this very untamed naturalized area for several years now. It is one of my favorite parts of the yard. The site contains lots of perennials but also contains lots of self seeding annuals. Later in the summer, the fiesta del sol will dominate the back side (right area in photo) of the bed, as they rise five to seven feet and display their brilliant red orange blooms. Part of the bed is an artificial bog. Very little weeding is done in the approximately 1/8 acre area. We only remove the largest, most aggressive invasive 'weeds', but most native vegetation is welcome, by us and by the many critters which live in and visit the spot. The photo shows a little less than half the bed area.

Gorgeous! I love your garden so much, alex... (thinking of this and other pictures you have shown us)
