Has anyone grown a Voodoo Lily?

I bought 12 voodoo lily bulbs on ebay. They are starting to grow a small pink tip. I am not sure if the tip is a root or the plant. Which way does the tip go in the soil, UP or DOWN?

The pink tip is the plant; point it upwards.
