Montauk Daisy

Is it too late to cut back my daisies? I read elsewhere that you should cut the stems halfway Dec 1. I had to work that weekend and could not. I have time today, but don't know if it's too late. We have had a few frosts but mostly warm weather for this time of year.

It's in the mum family. My mums I just wait until they are dormant (which is not yet where I am) and cut the stems off at ground level, leaving the basal rosette of leaves which will produce next years growth.

Oh, so, I could even wait longer then? Or should wait? I have some mums too and have not cut them back yet either. You are even farther north than me.

Yes, wait until you would be cutting your mums down. None of this is rocket science and plants don't have little calendars to tell them when it is Dec 1. But as long as the leaves are still green, they are still feeding the roots.

Oh, and I was so sure they did have calendars! :D Thanks, for your help! I guess I can go do some shopping now instead!
