Hey, do any of you know anything about clematis? My mom bought me a dead clematis for $1 at Lowe's and I nursed it back to health. I've had it for 3 months and it has yet to bloom. I've still got it in its original pot with its original trellis.
I live in zone 7b in central AL.
Should I plant it or keep it in its pot til spring?
Also the tip of every single one of its leaves is black and crunchy. Why?

If it is still in the pot, plant it out asap. Note it is unlikely to bloom the first year and less likely in a pot unless that pot if very large indeed. Generally, most clematis take a year to acclimate and yours was clearly stressed, from what you said. Plant it out, if that is where you planned to have it and be patient.
