Snipping a Hibiscus stem from McDonald's

I drove by my local McDonald's today and noticed a beatiful Hibiscus in their landscaping. The bloom's had to of been 6 inches wide and a very bright red. I want to snip a stem and root it. If I did would that be considered stealing? I did get my snipper and walked right up to it and then my guilty conscience kicked in and I walked back to my car with no stem in hand. I have also thought about asking the manager if he/she would mind if I did snip a stem. What would you do?

Yeah, that would be stealing, although I doubt there would be an arrest warrant.

Ask the manager, promise to take it from an inobtrusive place, don't let others see you do it, and buy something from them.

Thanks thanrose! You confirmed what I was thinking as well.
