how to store Iris

Hey everyone,
I want to dig up some bearded iris and store them. They're blooming now so after they bloom, I wanted to dig them up and plant then in my new house next spring. Can anyone tell me how to store them?

I live in NY, if that helps

I'd wait until the fall and put them in a dry pace, a basement, in a bushel basket.
