akevia quinata (chocolate vine)

has anyone had luck in propagating the 5 leaf akevia? How did you do it and how long did it take to establish a decent sized plant?

Did some research since I never heard of it, it's akebia, and it is native to Taiwan & Japan so I cannot believe it is hardy in your zone but one way to propagate any vine is from seed since it's stems look weak to propagate from cuttings.

I've researched it too, and I know it'll work eventually. Just don't know how long it will take to get a decent size plant. I just pinned a few shoots to the ground to get one going. I've read they don't take transplant well.

And it is a monster in my yard, literally. Gangbusters!
