Blue Fescue grass

I have about 10 of these and they are starting to look pretty shaggy. Not really sure how to care for them so haven't done anything. I cut all my other ornamental grasses back every fall but not sure about these. I need some advice please.

Thanks, Debra

You can shear them as well and then they will spread out more.

Thank you for your help. One more question - can I cut them back in the spring or is it best to wait until fall?

You should be able to do it now since I doubt plants are growing yet.

hi debra!

a little late, but, I just joined the forum.

I have a handfull of these plants (elijah blue). I shear them every late winter/early spring. I also divide them every 4-5 years (usually end up giving some away)---they seem to look much better after doing so.

just my 2¢ worth.
