Forsythia

Zone #5...When can I prune so I'll still have flowering in the Spring?

Forsythia should be pruned in late spring soon after flowers have dropped. I think early summer at the latest.

Yep, a little late to prune this year without affecting flowering. Or...you could wait, prune them in late winter and "force" the stems to bloom inside; so you get to enjoy them and see them pruned ahead of Spring as well.
