Suggest an evergreen, flowering vine.....

I am in zone 7a. Looking for a perennial that would do well on a lamp post with full sun.
Carolina Jessamine was my 1st choice-it reminds me so much of a beautiful allamanda vine we had in our back yard in FL- but I don't think it will survive in my zone.

Any suggestions (or success stories of Carolina Jessamine in a cooler zone) are greatly appreciated.

Hi Lacy,

I too live in 7a and can't think of a reliably evergreen vine that flowers.

Sweet peas are not evergreen but are lovely. There are many heirloom varieties that are very fragrant. Once you plant morning glory (also not evergreen) you will ALWAYS have them. They do seed prolifically and the seeds are viable for years in the soil. We removed all the morning glories we inherited with our home about 5 years ago. We had to remove several inches if topsoil and regrade and we still get some seeds that germinate when I work the soil.
