Asiatic lily bulbs- should I bring hem back to the store?

I bought a box of mixed asiatic lilies, but when I opened the box I found they had obviously been stored too warm and many of the bulbs had already sent up shoots 5-6" long with white leaves at the tip. Do you think they will continue to grow if I plant them, or should I just take them back. I have a feeling these are shot.

If you paid a lot of money, then take them back. They are probably okay though.

One test is the general feel of the bulb. If it's kinda soft with the outer scales even a tiny bit wrinkly, then the bulbs are in fair to poor condition. Not that they can't be saved, but they need hydrating quickly, best done by planting immediately and watering them in well.

If the sprouts are lanky and weak as well as white or very pale, that's also a possible indicator that they will need more TLC, such as sheltering and supporting the weak stems until they are stronger and greener.

It may or may not be worth your trouble to return them.
