Help Growing Blazing Stars

Has anyone grown Blazing Stars from corms? If they're planted in the spring, do they need to be chilled first?

Duh moment here...
I saw this post and went on by. Then googled blazing star. Is a liatrus. And I have one! It is marked Dwarf blazing star. I am thinking it is a native variety as I got it from a nursery that specializes in native plants. They had a booth set up at a fair (18th c trade fair) that I go to in SE TN. I just had to have it!
Mine hasn't spread much, and stays a lowly 12 -18" with the pretty lavender flower spikes. I just went out and checked it, the there are some hints of green showing around the base of the stems.

Back to the question, not sure how long it takes to bloom, as I got mine in a gallon pot and had some color (early September).

Liatris blooms for me in Florida, chill or not. Usually not.
