What Plant is this please

Dear All.
I inherited this plant. It has elypticle leaves, seems to grow outwards from the centre, along the ground, and has lilac/purple flowers.
Can anyone help please?

I believe this is Vinca minor. It will set down roots where it will establish additional clumps and form a ground cover.

It's very pretty and has little blue flowers very early in spring before most stuff is blooming and it will take over your yard if you let it. There's a little woods near me where all the native wildflowers have been totally choked out by this stuff. So watch out for it.

Dear Applestar & Rainbowgardener,
Thanks for you help, I have it in a pot, so it cannot get too invasive.
Thanks, again
