I just purchased three daylily containers at a home improvement store. Each container contains 3 "fans" (I swear this isn't turning into a word problem from math class, hahaa). Am I supposed to plant the fans in groups of three, like they are in the container, or do/can I spread them out?
Thanks in advance!
You can remove the soil from the roots ... just wash it off with a hose ... and gently separate the fans. Then you can plant each one individually.
If the roots are grown tightly together, and you cannot separate them, you can cut them apart with a sharp blade. Since your plants are new, I doubt that will be necessary, though.
