Black eyed susans?

Can I pick and dry out wild blackeyed susans and plant seed from them the following year to come up every year?

If they are like mine, they will seed themselves willy nilly all over your garden. The goldfinch love them so leave some seed heads and your birds will distribute them too.

Well their in my mom's field. I was wondering if I could pick a bunch and put the seeds in my field. When should they be picked in bloom or when dying?

Pick them when the sead heads are dried out if you're planning to distribute them elsewhere. In early fall or late summer.

They seem to seed themselves quite well all on their own, actually. Ours have grown huge and strong, and spread quite nicely over the years.
