I took my geranium outside the past few days to get it some nice sun - last two days have been warm and sunny. Well, it froze last night - and you got it, dumb me left the plant outside. It is quite wilted and unhappy today. What do I do???? How do I save it now?

Now sit down, and get some air, Grey!! Unless it froze hard and solid, I doubt that you have lost it.
You will lose whatever leaves were thoroughly frozen though. Bring it back inside (which I am sure you already did ). Clip off any pieces that you can tell have frozen through (they get an opaque, jelly look to them). Then just keep caring for it the way you normally would. You will still have some leaves die off, but new shoots will be coming in no time! No worries!

Grey, my mom knocks all the soil off of hers and hangs them in the garage (often below freezing) to dry. Then she repots and rehydrates them. Never loses them; they are starting to proliferate like rabbits (she can't resist a new one once and a while; must be where I get it from ) One freezing seems unlikely to be mortal...

Grey, every fall, I take all my geraniums (about 10 -12 now), knock the dirt off them, and pot them in a large pot with some dirt, but it ends up being mostly roots. I move the pot indoors near a window. I water them about once a month, and they get pretty messy and spindly looking by spring. When spring comes, I take them all out of the big pot, repot them into their own pots, prune them right back, water, and watch them grow. It's actually amazing - I think you could measure how much they grew every day.
As long as the roots didn't get frozen through, it will be fine. It actually does them good to get cut back once in a while.
