Need help planning for bare root Vitex

I'm in zone 7A (VA), and just received some bare root, dormant vitex seedlings. I potted them yesterday until I can figure out what to do with them. I would like to get them in the ground, but I'm afraid that my timing and placement will be wrong. I do have a full sun spot to plant them in, but I guess I'm just wondering if I should put them in the ground yet or baby them indoors until spring. It's October, and in the 70-80's during the day, but getting in the 40-50's at night--not yet freezing. Any suggestions?

Depending on how many seed you have I would split, half in the ground in a good compost/sand mix and half in the house. Sometimes freezing and thawing hastens germination. Test it yourself.
