please help identify!

:oops:

I have received this plant as a gift and have not a clue how to care for it, hoping someone can help identify so I can research it.

Its flowers are white and solitairy.. it also looks like there is one large petal. Sparse through stems with heart shaped dark green leaves.

I have pictures that I can email.

There is one large petal? Do you mean there is only one petal, or that one is larger than the others? I wonder if it is some kind of african violet. They have 5 petals and hairy heart-shaped leaves. I have never seen a white one, but I expect they exist in that color.
