Radish Q...

Hi All,

I've been planting French Breakfast radishes for a couple years now. While tasty, they look like %$#@^. More like like fat red pencils that grow above ground. I'd love to find the radishes you see in the grocery, the ones that are round and the size of a golf ball. Any ideas?

Like RASelkirk, In the past I've had little success with radishes but this year I grew Daikon - and, wow! I tried them (Miyashige) mostly in the hope they would go deep to help improve the soil. They have done that but also got very big and are a great spicy addition to meals, both hot & cold. I won't bother with red radishes again.

Yummm, I love daikons but unfortunately I've got raised beds that aren't deep enough to support them...
