Mango Seed Germination

What is the MAX time I can germinate a mango seed in a plastic bag, like a bean seed setup?

I don't know about a bag. We eat the fruit when it is ripe, not half ripe, scrub the seed and plant it in a pot about an inch deep an put it out with the other plants. It gets watered with everything else and it does take a while to germinate, but since we don't usually watch it, it just pops up.

Yeah, ik, but I was going to send it with a friend back to thailand. She leaves the us on june 20th. if I give it to her then, it will still be okay, right? I'm doing the classic school type bean germination experiment, just with a mango. it's been in the bag for 2 weeks now
