Germinating Seeds before sprout, light or no light?

I would like to ask, for germinating Bok Choy Seeds, is it better to have the dome cover dark (not letting any lights in) or clear (light can enter the dome)? That is before they sprout

For sure humid environment is good for germinating. (Some recommend Venting the dome for 2 hrs daily)

It depends, some seeds need light to germinate and some need total darkness.

Mustard/cabbage type seeds like Bok Choy would mostly germinate within 1-2 days and sprout in 2-3 days. 8 hours could make the difference between healthy growth vs. pale spindly growth. Assuming you covered the seeds with 1/8 to 1/4 inch of soil/potting mix/vermiculite, I would just go with clear cover so you wont end up missing when they first sprout.
