Am I doing the right thing??

Hi,sorry for being inactive for some time... I have my examinations now...inschool, by the way.. I have sown cucumber in a small cup for seed starting and closed it with lid..am I wrong... I did the same for rosemary..pics cuming soon

It's true that closing the lid will keep moisture (and heat if you're using a heat mat) inside the container like a humidity dome, but you'll want to remove it immediately after you see signs of germination. This will reduce the risk of damping off. Cucumbers sprout and grow so quickly that they don't benefit greatly from starting the seeds indoors. I always just plant my cucumber seeds directly in the garden once the danger of frost has passed.

Some people close theirs with a lid but just make sure that it has small ventilation holes I think. And the lid isn't necessary...I plant my cukes with out them.

OMG...so fast....guys the cucumber is sprouted...I sowed it yesterday...I kept it in warm shelf..I have done a small light system tempreorialy..
