Best Methods for Amaryllis Seed Start

Ok so I own several Amaryllis bulbs, 8 currently at breeding size/age that I use to produce new seeds annually.

I have only been into these plants for over a year, and I'm still learning about the germination of their seeds. What is the best method for making these sprout and want to continue growing? I know it takes years for them to get to breeding size like the others, but what I've tried so far and gotten to work was to place dirt in a tray with a see-through lid. Then I bury the seeds just beneath the soil, but not too far down, and I spray water over the top of the soil twice a day. I managed to get several seeds started this way, but they never lasted long.

Any tips I could get?

You could try cactus mix for your soil. When they emerge, start hardening them off immediately. Put them where you want them before it frosts.

You could spray them lightly with strong chamomile tea to prevent fungus/ damping off. Also take the lid off them after they sprout.

You could direct seed them in the ground, too.
