I start my seed in pots on an outside bench. I just found my pigeon pea pot has been raided and most of the peas are gone. The birds also like pepper seeds. UGH!
I feel your pain. I had 8 indian summer, black eyed susan plants that I started from seed. They were about 1 inch tall when I transplanted the to my flower garden. All but 2 have been eaten off.
I have to cover the seed tray with another tray to keep the birds from eating the seeds. They don't eat seedlings, the slugs and snails have that covered. The bulbuls and mejiros will eat the tabasco peppers, ripe papaya and ripening tomatoes. The doves go after the seeds.
