Cantaloupe flowering in pots?

Hi everyone, I have a question on my cantaloupe. I probably started them too early as I listened to a friend and now they are starting to flower while still in the red solo cup pots I up potted them too and they are still under fluorescent lights. I am wondering what I should do as I have almost three weeks until last frost date when I can safely put them in the garden. Should I pick the flowers or let them just grow? I think I started most of my warm weather crops too early or I have optimum growing conditions because I think a lot of my veggies are getting root bound in the red cups. I hope they will be ok until planting time. Thanks all for your help.

Sounds like you did start the warm weather stuff too early. I don't start stuff like squash and melons (the warmest of warm weather crops) until on or about my average last frost date. That way the soil has a chance to warm up more by the time they are ready.

I would pick the flowers and if at all possible, up-pot things in to a larger container than your solo cups.
