Best Way to Start Seeds

I'm just joking about the "best way", but here is a cheap way that has worked for many years. I use a Styrofoam cup with a good soil, plant seeds, and use saran wrap to cover, and tape in place for a mini green house. Then place about a foot under a $5 trouble light with a 100 watt bulb.

That works if you only want to start a few seeds, but you would need to watch carefully and take the plastic wrap off as soon as the seeds sprout. Also some seeds germinate much better with bottom heat which would be hard to provide that way.

Seems to work for the hot pepper seeds which are difficult to germinate.
