hello hello! this is my first real post here and I'm looking forward to holding conversation.
but on to the topic.
I harvested a female cone from beneath what I believe to be (japanese?[definitly foreign]) pine tree. Where do I even begin? suggestions and criticisms are welcome.
thanks all!!! :)
P.S. I have never grown a tree from cone. I'm hoping this success will immerse me into the world of growing my favorite plants (conifers)!!

also, I was wondering if it is unwise to harvest female cones straight from the tree itself or do I need to wait to harvest fallen cones?

AND one more thing! more specifically the tree I harvested the fallen cone from was what I believe to be a japanese umbrella pine..

once again. Thanks for all of your input!!

you need to start by making sure it has seeds inside. open it up. then plant them.

no just plant the seed, no chemicals needed, get soil from under a pine tree.

I bet if you posted a picture in the bonsai section here someone would ID it for you.
