zinnias - should I pinch them off

I have started some zinnia plants, which are doing quite well, but I am wondering if I should pinch off any of the leaves? Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

I pinch the first flower down to good buds on the stem.

Where I decide those good buds are is by assuming they are found in the axils of good-size leaves. The buds and leaves are left on the plant.

There may be a couple of weak leaves above these buds that are discarded with that 1st flower.
