I just went to my local nursery and picked up some smaller pots for about 45 cents each. I Then filled them with soil and plopped my seeds in. Works pretty well so far!

Our local landscape material yard has a nursery pot recycling area. You pick-up and drop-off what you want. I've gathered 1000's of 4" pots and 100's of 1020 flats. No charge. Guilt makes you buy compost / soil / hog fuel every once in a while.

If you want convenience greenhouse megastore

https://www.greenhousemegastore.com/category/containers

carries all that kind of stuff for relatively cheap prices. Order on line and it shows up at your door in about three days. Good quality, great service, and about as cheap as you can buy it (but of course not free, like scrounging). And the plastic pots and trays can be re-used for years.
