I grew them year before last. The planting/culture were treated just like tomatoes and produced very good results.

I've started my seeds indoors. They are currently 3" strings with a couple tiny leaves. I have the reg green ones and I found purple. I had pineapple tomatillos that are supposed to be sweet but they didn't sprout.

I have stared a couple of them indoors myself and they are doing well... all I can say is to treat them the same as regular tomatoes.

I direct sow them around late may, I used to start them every year early with my tomatoes and peppers but came to the conclusion my volunteers always outperform the starts and they start WAY later. must be that they get to develop a taproot.
