Can I start seeds outside yet? Or do I still need to wait another week or so?
I have already got cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, snow peas and I think one melon of some sort and possibly a couple of pumkins. Reason for not knowing the last few is because my 21month old boy thought it would be fun to dip the name sticks in different pots while the seedling were only a few weeks old! So it's a surprise and guessing game as they grow! Lol
A few of my seeds didn't take off indoors ( possibly because of a toddler picking in about them! Lol). So I'd like to try them again outside where hopefully they will have a better chance to be free!
I was planning peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin and some more broccoli
Will they be o.k. Direct in the ground or should I start in trays first?
I'm in the Ottawa area

I'm thinking you are to late on the peppers and the watermelon and cantaloupe will need extra heat. I recommend low tunnels to help with this.I was planning peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin and some more broccoli
I no longer start peppers to sell, they are just to finicky for our climate. I've never tried growing watermelon or cantaloupe, but will after the hoophouses go up. Maybe next year.
