are grow light something special or can you use a heat lamp, or regular,fluorescent light

I use the standard four foot shop light from Menards with t-12 6500k bulbs. I keep em on a timer. Roughly 18 on and 6 off.

Heat lamp - no. Shop lights, CFLs, HID - yes.

CFL or floro that are rated at 6500K. It's on the package.
