Scorsoneres Salsify

Does anyone know how to start these seeds? I did a yahoo search and several pages in french came up - but nothing that helped me.

Are they like regular salsify?

Has anyone ever grown this type?

Try searching "tragopogon". However from what I've seen they grow like weeds and may or may not need to be started indoors. However they look like they may be Biennial which means you may need to wait a year before getting any blooms. Wikipedia.org also has a page regarding the plant.

Try the spelling "Scorzonera." Sometimes also called "Black salsify."
