something slowly eating the base of my cauliflower plants

Hello,

I am new to gardening and I just found out something has been eating the base of my cauliflower plants. I read that it could be cut worms, I guess, so I put a guard around the base, but I still see more damage. Can anyone help with this issue. Thanks!

I vote for slugs or snails. That is what usually causes that kind of damage on my plants. If the stem was younger cut worms eat stems, but they cut a plant down overnight.

slugs do love brassicas! If imafan is right, you will never see them in daylight. Come out late at night with a flashlight and look.
