I was sent a package on indigo seeds, out of the blue (ha ha). As it happened, when I was at Ft Toulouse (AL) in November, and doing the dye demo, a woman was talking about her indigo plant(s) and she said she'd send me seeds. Well, just conversation in passing. Then a huge package of seeds show up!
In doing a quick check, and thanks to 2 books by Rita Buchanan, A Weavers Garden and A Dyers Garden , think this might be do-able. I have Indigofera suffruticosa. I'll soak some seeds today, then put some in peat pellets, and some directly in containers.
One needs far more than a few plants of indigo to do anything for blue dyeing, but it will be fun to grow!
