canning supplies

I had problems finding canning jars last year. The jar supply has gotten better but lids are still hard to find. Luckily for pickling I can reuse jars. The lid supply is supposed to be better in March.

Did you encounter any problems or did you have alternative ways to preserve your harvest?

I froze my stuff, but even Zip-Loc bags were hard to find. I didn't have enough peas to can I just cooked them fresh and ate them off.

I have a lot of ziploc bags so I never had a problem. I don't have a lot of freezer space. Actually, I have to tape my freezer shut because it is too full. I haven't really frozen too much produce, but I may start doing that when I have the room. Right now I have frozen some meatloaf and Costco chicken meat in single serving packs. I am also in the midst of cleaning out my pantry on rainy days. I have thrown out so much stuff. I found some brownie mix today that expired in 2015.
