Peaches, Ahhhh!

I just put up the 1st 4 pts of peaches in the freezer. By great fortune, I am sometimes the lucky recipient of culled peaches at the farmers market. Some go directly to compost, some eaten fresh, some frozen. Another vendor is getting some culls to feed her pigs, and I am sure the pork steaks she's selling to us are all that tastier!

Last year was the 1st time in many I had a freezer, a small chest type. I pealed and cut up peaches, put in ziploc type freezer containers. Then filled with juice, this unsweetened apple juice and add some bottled lemon juice. I didn't use the powdered 'fruit fresh' or whatever brand, but may add some. The peaches good, even a year later. BTW, these frozen peaches g-son (5) approved. Of course now he gets cut up fresh, and loves them. When he gets the frozen is a treat and he slurps up that juice.

Sounds great Susan, it will be nice to have those peaches during winter.
