IMO, I really like blueberry compotes with spices and lemon added to them. I follow the ball recipe, but add a tablespoon of lemon zest, the juice of a whole lemon, a teaspoon of grated ginger, a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom.
Last year I made strawberry jam with reduced balsamic, mint, green peppercorns and ground black pepper. It was VERY good. Especially with vanilla ice cream!
I like spiced blueberry jam with ice cream, and waffles.....and pancakes....and with a spoon...
