Bake your potatoes in the oven as usual. Slice the potatoes down the middle then place them in a pan with butter to bake until they are Golden Brown and Crispy on the surface. If you like toppings, cheese, chives, salt, pepper, herbs, add it while the potatoes are hot.

Sounds good. A variation on that, that I posted a long time ago and can't find now, is to bake the potatoes until tender. Then cut them in half. Brush the cut side with oil and lay an herb leaf on it, sticking it to the oil. Could be parsley leaf, sage leaf, oregano sprig, etc. Bake again until browned. Then when you peel the herb off, the potato will be "stamped" with the image of the leaf and somewhat flavored as well.

It works better to fry the baked potatoes in a skillet in a tablespoon of oil. They cook crispy golden brown in only a few minutes much faster than the oven and the crispy part is more crispy than baking again in the oven.

This is a variation that I do. I slice the potato - but not all the way through. I slide in a bunch of herbs - rosemary, garlic, oregano - whatever you want. Drizzle with olive oil and in this case I felt like being bad so I put on some paremsan cheese.
About when it has 10min to go I will drizzle on butter. SOooo goood
