What is the best dehydrator to buy

I want to buy a real good dehydrator, for different foods, but "What" kind?

Any suggestions on the best kind?

I want a good sized one, that will last for years.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

I own an Excalibur that is top of the line. It is a 9 shelf and has a 15 year warranty. I think I paid like around $230 for it. I dehydrate all kinds of things with it. And it is a pretty accurate dehydrator too and maintains the temps it says it does.

Can you do almost any foods on it?

Where did you get yours? I don't want one with any aluminum parts on it.

Probably isn't, shows how much I know about them.

"But" I really want to learn to do this.

I will google excalibur, see what I come up with, is there any particular model number on yours?

Thanks for answering. :D

I think mine is either the 2900 or 3400 model. It is a 9 shelf unit. Temp ranges from 95F to 165F. I have made jerky, fruit leathers, crackers, flatbreads, chips, granola bars, dried herbs and veggies etc. Not sure about aluminum parts I think the back panel may have aluminum. You will have to check on that. I bought mine off ebay.
