Cucumbers - How long will they last?

I'm growing a couple cucumber (Boston Pickling variety) plants that are full of blossoms and are starting to produce fruit. I want to pickle these whole, but right now there are only 2 or 3 that are ready to be picked, which obviously isn't enough to fill a jar. These couple of cukes are just about the size I want them, so I'd rather not let them get bigger. All the others are still tiny, and likely won't be harvestable for a week or two.

Would you suggest I go ahead and pick the first few and keep them in the fridge while the others mature, or will they spoil in that time?

it'll be pushing it a bit. they'll be of different quality than the newer ones, anyway. I'd just pick and eat the first couple, and not try to mix widely timed pickings.
