Let the games begin...

Last night I fried green tomatos, squash and fresh green onion mixed together and battered with corn meal. A great first garden dish for the new season.

Tonight, fresh green beans and a fried green tomato sandwich.

At one point I thought I should take of picture, but I just kept eating instead.

Trust me, it looked good.

Seriously, as I read your post I thought to myself, "Oh gee, I hope they took a picture!" I've never heard of cornmeal battered green tomatoes etc. Sounds great!

I made fried chicken & asparagus lightly sauteed in sesame oil. Have to serve the crowd pleasers.

It was a big chicken, had leftovers for lunch tomorrow and I reserved one chicken breast piece for pasta dinner tomorrow. I roasted that with dried basil and other herbs, basted with olive oil every ten or so minutes for thirty minutes.

I made broccoli-mushroom soup all with broccoli from my garden and another wonderful spring garden salad. Served with good bread (alas, not homemade!), it made a nice meal.

Only thing so far from the garden is broccoli and radishes.
